Increasing canvas size for framese
Open image, and
select
Image/Canvas size
Select inches.
We are going to
increase these
values(before
the decimal
point) by 1
Dialog box should now look like this.
Select OK
Experiment with these numbers. It will all
depend on your image size
The white
area is our
increased
canvas
We could just
leave this or we
could add a
variety of
colors and
styles to our
white area
Here's how. Select
Rectangular Marquee
tool and drag it over
our image only. Not
the frame
See the next photo

Now... Select / Inverse
Notice that the frame
area is selected
Anything we do from
this point will only
affect the white area.
For example.. Add a simple gradient
Or choose something from the styles
palette.

If you back up (too far) to try other frames. You might
need to repeat steps 6,7,8. To reselect the image again.

Experiment, with Filters,
layers styles, i.e. Bevel
and Emboss etc.
